Semester 1 Reflection

My quality of work in this semester was fairly good. My original photos were focused and in center. I tried to stay close to the objective and have creative ideas. I usually completed my work on time and had my photos ready for when i came in next class. I always had a first idea, then i usually branched off of that idea into something more creative or something no one has done before. To get ideas i google the subject and try to find something that appeals most to the assignment, then added my own ideas to the photo with photoshop or just the original picture.

My overall effort in this class was good. I always came in with something to work with for class (9 out of 10 times) and i planned when i was going to take the photos and where a couple days before. I would think of where my idea for the assignment would look best at, and go to that location. If it didn't work out, i would find somewhere else. I usually shot about 20 pictures each time or different angles and views. I usually did not have any ideas that were too difficult to shoot, so i never had the thought that i couldn't take the picture because of that. I do have a positive attitude when looking at other students work, and i can accept criticism when given to me.

My participation in this semester was okay. I was always on time to class obviously. I usually got my work done for whatever i needed to complete then i would just do other things. My work never really took the whole period, so i usually don't stay exactly on task every second. When i got done with my work i would plan what i would do for my next project and look at ideas on google that other people have done.

I think there is always room for improvement and i for sure can improve. I think i could work on my photo quality and how they look overall. I could work on having a stronger meaning and concept to my photos. I think i am pretty good at being able to improve the picture on photoshop, but i can always learn new things and improve in that as well. I could work on having more confidence in my work too because usually i always think they are bad.

In the second semester, i am going to try to stay on task more and be doing something all period. I also want to have more good ideas and branch out from regular ideas that are difficult to shoot. I also want to never use my first idea that pops into my head as my project because it is usually not very thought out and i can for sure think of something better along the way.

An assignment that i would like to see is a project that has to do with distorting an everyday object to make it look unknown. Like taking a picture of an everyday object that everyone knows and putting it into photoshop and distorting it to make it unrecognizable.
